This is where I sporadically post on various health-related topics, recent research, and things of interest to my patients. Have a question? Shoot me an e-mail. It may just become a blog post!

This is one of my favorite books written by biomechanics researcher, physical therapist, and chiropractor, Dr. Greg Lehman. A self-described "movement optimist", he is a breath of fresh air for the rehabilitation community!

Pain is COMPLEX. This is true for both an acute ankle sprain or chronic low back pain. Tissue injury is not the only determinant of pain and yet this is usually the only thing addressed by most healthcare providers.

In this manual, Dr. Lehman provides a comprehensive analysis of pain and breaks it down into digestible pieces. If you have persistent pain you are going to want this in your toolbox. If you have experienced traditional physical therapy, I'll bet haven't heard anything like it!

Dr. Erson Religioso, PT created this patient-focused website centered around self-treatment and management techniques for a variety of conditions. Dr. E is a mentor of mine and a physical therapist with more than 20 years of experience treating and educating patients and clinicians alike. He is the go-to for physical therapists when WE need rehab! He specializes in TMD, headaches, spinal care, runners, gymnasts, and chronic pain. Check out this site for some self-rehab tips!

Kelly Williams is a local fitness trainer and wellness coach that I highly recommend. Her personal mission is to facilitate holistic health and vitality through education and empowerment of her clients. Prior to starting her own business, Kelly worked for the Biggest Loser Resort Niagara as a personal trainer, yoga instructor, and wellness coach. Kelly is truly a gem and you can't go wrong with her in your corner! Her facility is located in Lancaster and she offers a variety of group classes. You can reach her on Facebook at Whole Fitness and Wellness.

Curable is an app that was designed by 3 people who have experienced chronic pain themselves with the express goal of providing evidence-based chronic pain therapy and support. I have tried this app myself and it has an easy-to-use interface and provides excellent education on pain that is supported by current evidence. For a low monthly fee, you can access education, excercises and support. They also offer a free trial and are an HSA & FSA approved purchase. Click here for a 25% discount!
